Church Services

Church service since lock down

My how times have changed.

We’re all learning new skills – social media, communication methods, blogging, Team and Zoom meetings & training with it. It’s all happening, so that we can get to meet up – howbeit – virtually.

Derby church had its first Sabbath Day service on 28/03/20 via Teams and it was an absolute delight to see everyone after the announcement by the PM to ”stay at home”. We have been meeting each Sabbath since then, sharing the word through the quarterly lesson Bible study entitled “Prince of Peace” and what a blessing this has been to see and understand how our Lord Jesus Christ has been in the beginning, revealed through His word, incarnate in man, ministering miracles and proclaiming the  authority of His peace.

On Sabbath afternoons we have been engaged as a church in study presentations on the book of Daniel. Learning in the context of the historical, prophetical and personal application which has opened our understanding to the time era that Daniel lived in, spoke about and prophesied to and implications for us in our daily lives.

We have also consolidated the learning from the presentations on Daniel and our own reading, in the form of a quiz each week, which has been both inspiring and fun with just a little added spice of competition which Sheffield brethren have also joined in. Recently we have been blessed to have the Nottingham brethren join in services also.

Just a thought - these new networking methods could be an additional evangelistic tool to reach more people even in post lock down.

In these changing times, it is heartening to know that the church is still able and willing to reach out and communicate Gods word to people: Hebrews 10:25 King James Version (KJV) 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

God Bless

  4. This is truly very inspiring and relatable I thank God that he is using social media as a means and a way to reach people. Social media is definitely an ongoing tool for future evangelism and I do believe that God is using this medium as a way forward for the Church in general and through out chrisondom. Let us pray that the holy spirit continues to guide the church in regards to this subject
